Sony Xperia Play - a new smartphone-console without the latest Android

Xperia Play unfortunately will not get upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich. Fans of the PlayStation games on your phone will have to settle for Gingerbread.

So far, still very little from the world of Android smartphones can work under the supervision of Android Ice Cream Sandwich. However, this has changed: more and more manufacturers announced that their top models get the latest Android phone in the coming months. It is no different from Sony. The Japanese manufacturer announced that most of the new Xperia smartphones will use the benefits of the latest version of Google.

Unfortunately, apparently not everything went according to plan. Xperia Play, one of the best phones of this company, also had to receive a software update. Sony, however, changed his mind. Ice Cream Sandwich is not spread among the Xperia Play in any form.

Sony explains the problems with the stability of the system. - After a long, internal tests conducted with our developers and our partners, we found that we can not provide a consistent and stable contact with the phone and games using the system Ice Cream Sandwich - read the official blog of Sony.
Sony adds in his defense, that this decision be just considered external developers, power users and suppliers of gaming on the Xperia Play.

Xperia Play is a new smartphone is one of a kind. Indeed, it is not only to the "traditional" games from the store Play, but also, as only one of many titles for the PlayStation entertainment.
